Chapters Transcript Video Summit Directors Welcome and Faculty Introductions Back to Symposium Please welcome to the stage, Tim Hugg. All right. You go take a seat. Hey, thanks for clapping back there. I appreciate that. I do. So, um, good evening. Welcome. My name is Tim Hugg. I'm the Vice President and General Manager of the United States, and I appreciate everyone, um, certainly joining us. Welcome to the, the Barrett Jackson Auto Show event, and, uh, Welcome to Waste Management. No, that's next week. Um, welcome to the inaugural BD Advanced, uh, peripheral vascular summit. Uh, this is the inaugural event. Uh, we certainly. None understand actually you have certainly many options and choices right about where you spend your time and and we appreciate your trust and your time and and your sacrifice for coming out here and hopefully we can actually offer you a great program. This is the inaugural event and so we're hopeful and um you know through your feedback through your engagement that this will be a successful event. We also are very aware of uh perhaps there's something a little bit brewing actually out East right now. Anyone from out east? That's right. OK, you guys are watching your flights left and right right now, I bet. OK, so we appreciate you, uh, you making the, the trip out here. With that being said, we, we, we did modify, um, you know, the agenda, uh, right for tomorrow, so I think many of you saw that in your packets. Um, never say that BD doesn't listen to the customer. We listen to you, right? So, so our goal here is to provide some a phenomenal event. Everything, every presenter, every, every item, uh, that was gonna be presented and discussed is now compacted, and so, uh, you can certainly then question the efficiency of the first draft perhaps, but we compacted it, right, um, but, uh, and so we. We look forward to having this great event. It does, um, close down roughly about 120 I think. And then from that point at 1 o'clock though, for those that are still around and going to, uh, stick around perhaps actually for, for later in the day in the evening or, or this weekend we have a 1 o'clock, uh, live case and we, we certainly welcome you, uh, to attend and, um, and then there'll be lots of BD folks, uh, throughout here, uh, looking for opportunities to speak with you and understand a little bit more about you and your practice and how we can best sort of help and facilitate you. And, and I mean that, uh, because we view this as, as certainly an opportunity but also a, a necessity and, um, and we believe that, you know, we have a responsibility here and, uh, with these with training with physic physi uh physician education. And uh our advanced team is is certainly world class and we're always looking, we're always under construction and looking for opportunities to raise our game so um that's certainly why we're here. I do wanna throw a shout out, uh, to our course directors, um, first of all, Doctor Erin Murphy. Erin, can you, can you stand up for a second? There she is right there. There she is, the woman, the, the legend. So we appreciate Erin. Erin for making the trip, bachelor surgeon for HM Health from Charlotte, from Charlotte, North, North, North Carolina, as she says, right, North Carolina. She can drop that when she wants. And so we certainly appreciate you. Uh, Erin's, uh, leading the, the Venus, um, aspect of things here. And so, and we also have, uh, Doctor Eric Sasimski. Eric, right? Uh Eric, Doctor Eric, there he is right there. OK, so Doctor Sosinski joins us, right, interventional cardiologist Beth Israel Deaconess in, uh, in Boston, Massachusetts. So he's, uh, eagerly always, uh, checking his flights for tomorrow, I'm sure. But, uh, and we also appreciate him stepping up. I think many of you are aware, uh, Doctor Prakash Krishnan was also part of this. Uh, he couldn't make it but sends his best, and, um, and certainly, uh, he had to stay, stay back home there, and, uh, there's a few things actually brewing at Mount Sinai right now that he didn't need to be back for. I'll put it that way. I, I do wanna, um, also, um, say thank you. On behalf of the course directors here to the, to certainly the, the faculty, this is our arterial faculty, um, certainly Doctor Nita Dua, Pete Pete Ferruja, Mark Leslie, Sean Lyon, Tino Pena, and Perag Patel. So this is our arterial faculty here. We appreciate you, um, uh, leading the charge with that, and our Venus faculty, Danny Dunleavy, Eric Hager, Steve Haskells here, and Mark Leslie, Hunter Ray, and, and, and Lena Vargas is here. So we appreciate you, uh, certainly helping us out there, and we do have a few folks, uh, joining us virtually, um. And not tonight though, I don't believe, but tomorrow, right? So tonight we have, uh, Fabrizio Finelli, right, the calcium man himself, right? Uh, and so he'll, uh, he'll be calling in and, uh, presenting a little bit tomorrow and then Chris Lassar, a vascular surgeon, uh, Will Harris, and, uh, Doctor Michael Liechtenberg from Germany be calling it. So we appreciate their, uh. Involvement engagement. This is our inaugural event. This is our first event. Once again we welcome, um, the engagement, certainly the advice, the suggestions, but we hope also to make this a great event for you and, um, an intimate event where you can sort of share best practices and, uh, what's working well, the challenges that you're having, and learn from your peers.
